Dr. Patrick Ko graduated from the Sophie Davis School of Bio Medical Education and later finished Medical School at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. He finished his internship at Beth Israel Medical Center in Manhattan in Internal Medicine. He completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at Jacobi and Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx.
After he completed training, Dr. Ko worked as a full time Emergency Medicine profession at Mount Sinai as well as an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Mount Sinai Medical School. Dr. Ko was awarded the Best Teaching Doctor of the year for two years by the Emergency Medicine Residents at Mount Sinai Hospital while working for few years. After Dr. Ko left Mount Sinai Hospital, he moved on to North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset to finish a one year fellowship in Emergency Ultrasound. After training, he served as an Assistant Residency Director for many years in the emergency department where part of his duties was being in charge of recruiting and educating future emergency room doctors. Doctor Ko also worked part time at North Shore Forest Hills Hospital and has had the highest patient satisfaction scores for 2 years in a row in the emergency department before resigning his post at North Shore Hospital System. . He was nominated for the Doctor of the year there. Dr. Ko also serves as a team physician to the NY Fury, a professional women soccer team in Long Island.
Board certified in Emergency Medicine, Dr. Ko has written several articles in medical journals and has presented research in National Emergency Conferences. His interest includes emergency ultrasound and the utilization of ultrasound to help make bedside diagnosis and treatment of patients as they present to the emergency room. Dr. Ko has set up an Urgent Care center in Flushing, and helped to set another urgent care in Astoria. Union Square Urgent Medical Center in Manhattan is his third clinic and he hopes to serve the community and dedicate himself by applying his wide knowledge in urgent care to the patients.
Dr. Ko fluently speaks both English and Korean, and he can understand basic Spanish.
